The success of the third annual Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam 2015 was announced loud and clear!
Held in Panama City Beach, Florida, there were around 20,000 people attending the three day
country music event over Labor Day Weekend. Starting on Friday, September 4 th , with
performers such as Preston Summerville, Ronnie Millsap, Hunter Hayes and ending with Lady
Antebellum; Saturday included several artists like Scotty, McCreery, Dwight Yoakam and ended
with Miranda Lambert. The lineup was filled with a wide range of top country music performers
with the last finale being Martina McBride and Keith Urban on Sunday evening.
What made this year’s Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam even more spectacular than the last two years was
the addition of new subs to the existing phenomenal sound system! Production Manager Mark
Lefiles, of Southern Sound and Lighting, hired Greg Herndon, of Mojoe Productions, to provide
the audio system and says the system rocks! Greg recently added twenty of the Ramsdell Pro
Audio 21” Sub Engines, Model BPSD21-S- 2 which was the right choice. Greg said he has found
other brands of 21” subs to be “floppy with a lot of unwanted resonance.” Not at all with the
Ramsdell Pro Audio sub engines! Greg got comments from the FOH that they were ‘very tight
Greg used a 15 box Vertec 4889 hang with 10 Ramsdell Pro Audio subs per side. These subs
easily kept up with the Vertecs. He had the Ramsdell Pro Audio LA112 Line Array enclosures
flown on the video truss behind the FOH about 175 feet down stage for delays. They filled in the
hole behind the FOH perfectly!
What solidified Greg’s confidence in his system was, when each performers Sound Engineer
came to him and had only positive things to say. Each was extremely impressed with the sound
clarity, volume level and punch being delivered. Not one negative comment was made.
John Coop, FOH Engineer for Keith Urban, stated he was not usually a fan of 21” subs but said,
“you fooled me, as these have a very tight sound for a 21” subwoofer!”. He said he was very
happy with their performance.
Grammy Award winner, John McBride, FOH for Martina McBride said, “the rig sounds amazing
and that all of the components complement each other.” One after the other performer’s sound
engineer told Greg how good the audio system preformed and, that they were very pleased.
Mojoe Productions, Inc will continue to be proud to have Ramsdell Pro Audio loudspeakers as a
vital part of their sound systems. Greg highly recommends them to anyone wanting the most
natural sound with the least issues. Just stay within recommended limits and you’re good!
